Making Space

Our cat Zaria loves a good windowsill. She doesn’t care that her ass is too big to fit in one. She gets what she can up on it and let’s the rest hang off.

She did it in our apartment in Brooklyn. She’s done it wherever she’s lived, my wife says.

I’m looking out my office windows today for the first time in over a month. My office became my daughter and grandson’s room when they came to stay with us in late March. But last night we moved them to the sun room–the best room in the house, really, except it’s too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. But it’s their space–and they need their own space.

We all do.

Even if it’s not ideal.

Even if the all of us doesn’t quite fit.
